A few sites are under good-sized second-growth redwoods, while the rest are in tanoak and laurel woods. It’s close enough to Highway 9 that it gets some traffic noise, especially when cars or motorcycles race noisily along the road late at night. Before the 2020 CZU fire, Waterman Gap was the normal first-night stop on the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail.
